Why it is priced this way
You buy it. You keep it.
Most garage software rents you access to a server somebody else controls. GaragePilots is installed on hardware you own, under a licence you have already paid for.
Your data stays where you put it
On a self-hosted install — the setup we recommend — the database, the inspection photos and the backups all sit on your own machine, with no vendor copy of your customer list and nothing to request if you ever want to leave with your data. If you would rather we host it, it runs on a server dedicated to you and the export is still one click.
It keeps working when the broadband doesn't
A self-hosted install runs on your workshop's own network, so reception and billing carry on through an outage. The technician tablet app goes further still and works fully offline, syncing when the connection returns.
The bill does not grow with your team
Hire a fourth advisor and nothing changes on your invoice. Pricing moves with branches, not with seats, and never retroactively.
Support lapses, software does not
If you stop renewing the annual maintenance contract you keep running the version you have. AMC buys you updates and support, not permission to open the app.
Questions
What owners ask before they buy
Do I need my own server, or can you host it?
Either. Most workshops run it on a small machine in the office, which is what we recommend — it keeps working when the broadband does not. If you would rather not manage hardware, we will run it for you on a dedicated server and the licence terms are unchanged.
What happens if I stop paying the AMC?
Nothing stops. The licence you bought is permanent and the software keeps running exactly as it is on the day the AMC lapses. What you lose is updates, new features and support — and you can renew later to get them back.
Does it produce GST-compliant invoices?
Yes, with the correct CGST, SGST and IGST split, HSN codes and part numbers on each line. It also assembles your GSTR-3B figures and reconciles the portal's GSTR-2B against your supplier invoices, then exports to Tally XML or Zoho CSV for your accountant.
Can my technicians use it? They are not computer people.
The technician app is a full-screen tablet interface with large touch targets, built for oily hands and bright workshops. It shows one job at a time and asks for the next thing. Technicians are usually independent inside an hour.
Will it work if the internet goes down?
The install runs on your own network, so reception and billing carry on through an outage. The technician tablet app goes further and works fully offline, queueing everything and syncing when it reconnects.
Can I move my existing customer and parts data in?
Yes. Send us what you have — Excel, a Tally export, or another garage system's export — and migration is included in the licence. Duplicate customers, vehicles and part numbers are matched and merged during the import rather than after it.
Is it available in Tamil?
Yes, completely. Every screen, message, validation error and button is translated, and each staff member picks their own language. Invoices and reports stay in English by default, because that is what accountants and insurers expect.
How is this different from the monthly subscription products?
You pay once for the licence instead of every month forever, the price does not increase when you hire people, and the database sits on your premises rather than on a vendor's cloud. Over three years, for most workshops, the arithmetic favours owning it — bring your numbers to the demo and we will work it through with you.
Does it handle more than one branch?
Yes. Each branch has its own calendar, bays, stock and staff, and the owner sees consolidated revenue, margin and comparison across all of them. Branch managers only see their own branch.
Can customers see their vehicle's status without installing an app?
Yes. They get a private link by WhatsApp or SMS that opens in whatever browser is already on their phone. They can watch live status and repair photos, approve or decline estimate lines, pay by UPI, and download past invoices.
How long does it take to go live?
Install and configuration take a day. Data migration depends on how much you have, usually two to three days. Most workshops are running live inside a week and stop printing job cards after the first fortnight.
What does support actually cover?
The AMC covers version updates, GST and statutory changes, bug fixes, phone and WhatsApp support during business hours, and help restoring from backup. It does not cover new hardware or your internet connection.
